Thiele Geotech, Inc. completed a geotechnical exploration study in 2002 for the Phillips Manufacturing facility located at the Stockyards Industrial Park in Omaha, Nebraska. Prior to the exploration for this site, Thiele Geotech, Inc. provided desktop reviews for over ten sites and performed explorations on three sites. This manufacturing facility consists of a 140,000 square foot building with associated paved parking, truck docks, and truck access drives. Thiele Geotech, Inc. also provided materials testing during the construction phase of the project which was completed in 2004.

SIRE Ethanol Plant

The Southwest Iowa Renewable Energy (SIRE) plant will be a 110 million-gallon per year corn dry-mill ethanol plant on a 195-acre parcel of land along the I-29 highway corridor south of Council Bluffs, IA. The SIRE plant is expected to use more than 39 million bushels of locally grown corn on an annual basis. The initial scope of work for Thiele Geotech, Inc. was for the plant site with additional consulting on the rail spur to be constructed through the MidAmerican Energy property. Thiele Geotech, Inc. provided the geotechnical exploration, special inspections, piling installation observation, and materials testing. Project completion is expected in 2008.
