NE-ARNG Joint Forces Hdqtrs
Lincoln, Nebraska
 |
Thiele Geotech, Inc. completed a geotechnical exploration study in 2004 for a Reserve Center used as the Joint Forces Headquarters Building. Located at the Lincoln Air Base in Lincoln, Nebraska, the space will support the Nebraska Army and Air Guard Units, the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency and Nebraska State Patrol. The project consists of a new 4 story, 140,000 square-foot steel-framed building which meets the Gold standards of the SPiRiT Program. The project presented unique design challenges with the multi-branch mission flexibility and the site adaptability requirements. The site takes up five square city blocks located in an alluvial floodplain area surrounded by Elk Creek, Oak Creek, Middle Creek, and Salt Creek where wetlands issues, water table issues, and site settlement issues had to be addressed. Construction is anticipated to be complete in 2010.
